Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi built by the late Sheikh of UAE

So on our three week trip to India, we also stopped over in United Arab Emirates (UAE) for three nights. I haven’t been back to UAE since I moved to the States and I was looking forward to this trip when I booked the trip. I was born in Ras Al Khaimah and lived in UAE for about 16 years. So over the last 10 years a lot of changes have taken place and I couldn’t recognize most of the roads or buildings in Dubai, Sharjah or Abu Dhabi. Even after 10 years Ras Al Khaimah my home town looks pretty ghetto compared to the other Emirates. It was definitely a nostalgic moment to be back again and walk on the same roads where I used to play cricket and meet up with friends. Its amazing how fast time goes and now its also just a fragment of my memory.

While we were in UAE, we went to the Heritage Village in Abu Dhabi, Dubai Mall, Jumeriah Mall as well as the Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi. We also stopped in front of the Burj Al Khalifa as well as the Burj Al Arab. The buildings in UAE are absolutely gorgeous. For architecture photographers, this place is a blast and could spent hours photographing the different buildings. As a tourist I have also managed to take a few photographs and have posted below. I will try to provide some caption to these pics but if you have any specific questions, leave me a comment and I will get back with you shortly.

Tallest Flag Pole in the World

I know its a lot of pictures but I tried to shorten it as much as possible. When I am off on my next rotation, I will try to put some more on my facebook page. Thanks for looking again and this concludes our three week vacation trip 🙂
